Commitment to Student Learning
My teaching philosophy focuses on individual student success through an innovative, student driven and inclusive learning environment. Each student has their own unique story and specific strengths and weaknesses. Students will be encouraged and celebrated through self-motivation, creativity and perseverance giving them life skills to succeed in our ever-changing world.

Co-Created Anchor Charts
Effective anchor charts foster character by inspiring each student to develop craftsmanship, perseverance, collaborative skills, and responsibility for learning. With the class co-creating them it makes the students more responsible for their learning and more engaged in the topic. I've included an example from my Grade 3 practicum on paragraph writing

Differentiated Instruction in Lessons
Attached in a lesson plan from my Grade 3 lesson on graphing. The topic was differentiated to suit each students levels through an inquiry based assignment, click on the picture to view the entire lesson plan

Games as Assessment
In my Grade 6 practicum, I implemented games as a form of assessment. Students demonstrate how to play the game and share their learning based off sentence starters for students to refer to as they play. With this oral feedback, I was able to assess student's learning in a way that was better suited for my students.
