Professional Development
The best teacher is a good learner. My favourite thing about this career is that you learn something new everyday, I am constantly being taught by my students, my colleges, and the world around me.
An important part of teaching is being open to every opportunity that will make you a better teacher. From professional development to student driven inquiry focuses to personal experiences, every opportunity can be a learning opportunity. Creating a classroom environment that facilitates care, trust, respect and integrity

Throughout this course, I learned to address the complexities of teaching and learning in ELL, multicultural and diverse contexts in Canada and abroad. The focus was on theories that support teachers in their understanding of the complexities associated with teaching in cross-cultural contexts, such as cultural variables, “third culture kids”, service learning, professional development and diversity consciousness. The class discussed current literature in the field of overseas teaching and cross-cultural teaching and learning.
